REGISTRATION AND CLAIM FILING DEADLINES

There are two deadlines in the VCF’s claim filing process: a Claim Filing Deadline and a Registration Deadline. It is important to distinguish between the two and be aware of which applies to your individual circumstances.

We have comprehensive information about each deadline, as well as details about when to register, and when to file a claim.

YOU'VE GOT MAIL!

You might have mail. Although the VCF is not currently able to mail hardcopy letters, we will continue to generate letters on a daily basis, and electronic copies of each letter will be uploaded to online claims daily. You can view all correspondence on your claim online through the claims system. If you do not have online access to your claim, please call the VCF Helpline, or contact your attorney (if you are working with one).

VCF Policies and Procedures

This resources below outline the policies and procedures of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (“VCF”). The pages include information on eligibility criteria, the methodology used to calculate economic and non-economic loss, payment procedures, appeals and hearings, claims for deceased individuals, and information for claimants who are represented by an attorney for their claim.

These resources are intended to be used as a reference by individuals who are filing a claim, or by those who are interested in how the VCF operates.

Note:  The PDF version of the Policies and Procedures document also housed "Section 8: Appendix."  Since this version is now online, we have instead linked directly to the appropriate resources directly on our site.  As a result, we no longer require the Appendix and it has been removed.
